Safety Lead Officer

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

The Lead Safety Officer performs daily door monitoring checks and conducts scheduled internal and external rounds. He/she is responsible for responding immediately to all emergency situations at the community and is required to demonstrate the acts and principles of exemplary customer service to all internal and external customers at all times.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES: 

  • Assists the Safety Management team with key administrative functions to include, but not limited to: access card processing, control, and distribution; PHB processing, control, and distribution, parking sticker processing, control, and distribution; for Kiosk supplies.
  • Provides general leadership to the Safety Department team. Assist the Safety Management team with general guidance of staff on a daily basis, regarding safety department happenings and operations.
  • Assists with initial and ongoing training of Safety Department personnel.
  • Performs daily door monitoring checks with the Safety or designated management representative, conducts scheduled internal and external rounds, maintains departmental equipment to ensure proper functioning, and reports all discrepancies and unsafe conditions to ensure the safety and security of the community.
  • Responsible for responding immediately to all emergency situations at the community, practicing proper First Responder protocols and life safety policies and procedures.
  • Required to demonstrate the acts and principles of exemplary customer service to all internal and external customers at all times.
  • Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting of all life safety systems
  • Ensures Safety Officer completes their Daily, Weekly and Monthly tasks assigned to them
  • Ensure that the daily Check-Off sheets for the Safety Golf carts are completed
  • Conduct fire drills though out community
  • Assist Safety Supervisor in conducting the Safety Department’s portion of new employee orientation training.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  •  Current EMT certificate and CPR card.
  •  Minimum of three months’ employment within Safety Department
  •  Eighteen years of age or older.
  •  High School Diploma or GED.

 

  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Light to moderate physical effort up to 90% of the work day. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, and squatting. Must be able to transport residents via wheelchair, pushing up to generally 200 lbs. Able to occasionally lift, carry and balance generally up to 125 lbs. (250 lbs. with assistance). Occasionally push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment generally weighing up to 200 lbs. May be exposed to communicable diseases including HIV and Hepatitis B viruses; industrial and household chemicals; offensive odors; and combative behavior.

Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
